Manuel Mayer set the team’s fastest lap time of the two days at 1:40.524 with Benjamin Fischer a close second at 1:40.577 followed by newly hired full-time driver and Las Vegas native Jason Allen, who made his first start with Fischer Motorsport in the iRacing Endurance Series 12 Hours of COTA in October.

Pascal Theis and Y. Hignet posted the fourth and fifth-fastest lap times, respectively. Nathan Manning and Kyle Birnie, who will also compete in the iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona in January with the team, did not attend the two test days at Daytona.
The team focused on setup work, tire management and pit-stops during the two days. Logging a couple hundred laps, the team also tested conditions during the day and nighttime.
“The track changes a lot from day to night. So, this was going to be a huge focus for us these couple of days, obviously. We did a lot of work on the setup and gathered a lot of data.”, race engineer Richard Bell said.
“One of the most important aspects was, that we needed to get an understanding of these new tires and regulations by iRacing. I would say we have a lot better understanding now of where we are and what’s possible strategy-wise, than before. So this is really good.”, Bell added.
The iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona will take place on January 23-24, 2021 and Fischer Motorsport will enter the event as defending champions, looking to repeat as winners.
“I think nobody is going to sleep on us. We’ll have to be at our best to have a chance to repeat. Honestly, we are just focused right now on doing our job and getting ready. It’s going to be a long race. Anything can happen. But hopefully we can put ourselves in position again at the end, where we can fight for the win.”, team founder Benjamin Fischer said.
After the conclusion of the two-day test at Daytona, the team is now traveling back to Germany for the holidays, before travelling back to Florida in the third week of January.
