The iRacing Endurance Series 2020 season, the series’ first ever after being created by iRacing in February of this year, will reach its conclusion this Saturday with the 12 Hours of COTA. With drivers Pascal Theis and Jason Allen, Fischer Motorsport will have the No. 84 Porsche 991 RSR GTE on the grid for the event.

For Allen, the 12 Hours of COTA will be the first start for the team. The 47-year old American has his roots in oval racing where he has won many races, including a championship against NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, who calls Las Vegas home, just like Allen.

At the beginning of this year, Allen entered the GT sport and shortly afterwards gathered his first experiences in endurance racing. After intensive preparation, Fischer Motorsport announced on Wednesday that Allen would drive for the team this weekend.

“I am very thankful for the opportunity. I did my first few endurance races earlier this year and just felt, this is something that I want to do and get into. Fischer Motorsport was very kind to me and had an open seat this weekend, so the timing was perfect for me.”, explained Allen.

Theis, who is the lone Fischer Motorsport driver to compete in all iRacing Endurance Series races this year, certainly is happy about the reinforcement and is looking forward to the season finale.”

“It’s great that we have Jason onboard with the team. He’s done a phenomenal job so far. If you didn’t know he was new to this, you’d think he’s a veteran.”, Theis complimented on his new team-mate for the weekend.

“COTA is one of my favorite tracks. I just love the the flow of the track and that really every single corner is unique. I think it’s going to be a very challenging race. Tire management will play a big role again, obviously. But I’m confident we’re well prepared.”

In two starts so far, at the Circuit of the Americas, in the 2018 iRacing Endurance Le Mans Series and the 2019 IVRA Endurance Series, Fischer Motorsport finished in ninth place both times.

Green flag for the 12 Hours of COTA is scheduled for Saturday 15:30 CEST / 9:30 am EDT.
