The iRacing Endurance Series enters the second half of its inaugural season this Saturday. As the third of four championship rounds, the 12 Hours of Barcelona awaits the teams. Fischer Motorsport and the No. 84 Porsche 911 RSR GTE team will hope to continue a positive trend.

Things got off to a terrible start for Fischer Motorsport in the season opener at Suzuka back in April. Following a horrific crash that lead to a premature retirement, the team also was disqualified to score no championship points. Two months ago, the team was able to start turning the season around with a very respectable fifth place finish at Silverstone.

Drivers Pascal Theis, Aaron DePoy and Nate Manning will look to share driving duties at the Circuit de Catalunya in this weekend's 12 hour race, as it is expected to see yet another very hot summer race.

"I think Silverstone, that was on the limit, physically and mentally. We're quite happy, that we can spread the driving time among three drivers this time. That should help a lot.", says team owner Benjamin Fischer.

Currently the No. 84 Porsche team sits at a rather humbling 42nd spot in the point standings of the GTE class. But following fifth place at Silverstone, the team now is on its quest to take the next step.

"In the end, you can't really worry too much about the race. These 12 hour races are way too long. A lot can happen. But we're doing our best, to do right what we can control. That part of that is, to make sure we're prepared. We're doing not too bad in free practice right now. That gives us confidence for Saturday.", explained Aaron DePoy, who makes his return for Fischer Motorsport after a break of almonst two months.

As is commong in the iRacing Endurance Series, the third championship round will see competition in three car classes. Fischer Motorsport will compete in the highest class, GTE, with its Porsche 911 RSR GTE entry while having to share the circuit with the slower class cars in GT4 and TCR.

The 12 Hours of Barcelona, third and by that second to last round in the 2020 season, are scheduled to take the green flag Saturday at 15:30 CEST / 9:30 am EDT.
