Fischer Motorsport signs Y. Hignet

Fischer Motorsport on Friday officially announced the hire of Y. Hignet as the team’s newest addition to an already strong lineup of drivers. The Frenchman will make his official debut with the team in this weekend’s iRacing Petit Le Mans.

Hignet joins the team carrying the experience of nearly three full years of iRacing competition, mostly in the Porsche iRacing Cup where he has garnered a number of poles and wins, driving the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Yannick Hignet, a 26-year old Frenchman from Paris has competed on iRacing for nearly three years. Outside the track, he enjoys photography and music.

Coming up through the ranks of sprint races, the Paris, France native now makes the jump to endurance racing with Fischer Motorsport and will immediately see his first challenge in this weekend’s iRacing Petit Le Mans, the final premier endurance iRacing special event of the year.

“I am very excited about what’s ahead. I’m very confident in myself and think I have a lot to offer and with my goal to take my next step into endurance racing, joining a top-class organization like Fischer Motorsport is the best that could have happened for me.”

Hignet, who is also fluent in German and English will compete full-time in the 2020-21 IVRA ClubSport Series, piloting the No. 85 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with team veteran driver Pascal Theis. The season starts off on October 24th with Round 1 at Road America.

However, for now, the team newcomer’s focus will be on this weekend’s iRacing Petit Le Mans that starts Saturday 15:45 CEST / 9:45 am EDT.
