While the iRacing 24 Hours of Le Mans next weekend are starting to take the spotlight, Fischer Motorsport shifts its focus to the Nürburgring one more time this Sunday for Round 4 of the 2021 iRacing Nürburgring Endurance Championship.

Over the course of the first trimester of the season, the team was able to earn some good results, but continues to wait for its win of the season and its first in GT3 since 2018. In the last race on May 30th Benjamin Fischer and Florian Volk in the No. 84 BMW barely missed the jump to the podium by taking fourth place.

Niclas Pedersen set a successful series debut and drove to a fifth-place finish with Pascal Theis in the No. 85 BMW.

The Fischer Motorsport Porsche Junior Team with the Porsche Cayman GT4 and drivers Tobias Abel and Marko Zelenika will not be starting this weekend.

In the overall championship standings, thanks to two top-fives and two top-tens, the No. 84 BMW sits in 36th place. The sister car No. 85 BMW holds 59th place in the standings after scoring one top-five and two top-tens so far.

Expectations among teams and drivers for Sunday’s race are that it will be one with high summer temperatures.

“We are expecting quite high track temperatures. That’s probably the way it will be for the next three races. This isn’t always easy, because the grip goes away and the car starts to slide.”, explained Florian Volk.

At the same time, Sunday marks the first race after iRacing released new technical regulations that also affect the BMW M4 GT3.

“We have done a test day here in mid-June because of that. Indeed, some things have changed because of the new technical regulations. But so far we’ve got to say, that none of those really hurt us. Rather the opposite, we believe we may have picked up some speed, actually. We just have to show it in the race now.”, said Pascal Theis, visibly optimistic with a big grin on his face.

The fourth round of the iRacing Nürburgring Endurance Championship is set to start Sunday at 15:40 CEST / 9:40 am EDT.
