Preview: 6 Hours of Spa
The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the famous track in the Belgian Ardennes, in the triangle between Stavelot, Spa and Malmedy, will host the second round in this exhibition series and take a field of three classes through its 19 corners en route to a Saturday late night finish.
"We love coming here. Spa is always a great track to visit, and a wonderful place, too. In many ways, Spa is a lot like the Nürburgring. And the people here are really friendly and always so welcoming.", Pascal Theis said.
Theis, of course, comes off a great run in last weekend's iRacing Endurance Series round at Silverstone. So the 26-year old hopes to take some of the momentum into this weekend, to get a better finish than at Watkins Glen last month, where the team fell short of its own expectations and finished in eighth place.
"I certainly hope so.", Theis added.
"Watkins Glen, we made a lot of mistakes. We weren't really all that good on pace. But then also shot ourselves in the foot by getting involved in a bunch of incidents. That just really hurt us. I fully expect us to do better this time around. But we'll have to work for it."
If the first few practice sessions of the week are any incdication, Theis should be right, with the SPORT class field being incredibly competitive and additionally exciting with the addition of the new competitor, the BMW M4.
Manuel Mayer will join Theis in the race, that is scheduled to start Saturday at 18:00 CEST / 12:00 pm EDT and will be broadcast live on the iRacing eSports Network. Additionally Fischer Motorsport will have its own live stream available, onboard the No. 185 Porsche Cayman GT4.
